Persian Gold Quarry
This huge mineral area that includes three distinct quarries, called Persian Gold 1, Persian Gold 2,and Persian Gold 3, is located in Mahallat, Markazi province. This quarry complex is known with the trademark of Persian Gold and has an annualextraction capacity of 14.000 tons. The unique feature of Persian Gold complex is the high mass density and hardness of its products compared to other types of travertine. Therefore, since travertine is commonly used in construction, the use of this unique product makes facade extremely resistant to severe temperature. These quarries are located in the areas of hot springs that have healing properties due to metamorphic rocks in their currents. The products of these quarries have warm colors, such as cream, beige, chocolate, sienna, and gold. In addition, sculptors always create a number of works from this kind of Travertine.
